Devotion means different things to different people. To some it is an act of worship. To others it is the commitment to follow the voice of inner guidance, no matter the cost. To others, devotion is the dedication to show up over and over in the pursuit of an ideal. The human heart is wired for devotion.
Your attention to the word “devotion”, your contemplation on how to integrate it into your life, is what is being asked of you now. Contemplating devotion will bring you to a greater awareness of the nature of Source, God, the Universal Consciousness that feeds your soul and sustains your Being.
The more time you spend in the presence of Oneness, the more easily and effortlessly you will forget the things that divide and remember the common Goodness, Rightness, and Love that unites all who pursue Universal Truth.
In contemplating devotion, you see the wonder and beauty that lies at the very heart of every religion and spiritual practice. From this perspective, these religious and spiritual practices are awe-inspiring and majestic in their simplicity and grace. Every one of them offers a unique path that leads to precisely the same destination.
Devotion is the act of bringing heaven to earth. It is the means by which each and every human rises above his or her struggles and clasps God’s hand as it reaches out to him/her. Your life’s challenges were lovingly created for this very reason: to remind you of the hand that Source is extending. The deeper, richer and wilder your challenges are, the more profoundly Divine Grace will saturate your cells and permeate your bones.
Explore what devotion means to you. Attend to the quiet tug in your heart to commune with the Creator. Create space in your day to honor the light that lives within you; the light that inspires the song – the unique tone – only your precious heart can sing.
