So I wish I could say the dieta was going well. But that would be a big, fat lie. We’re supposed to be eating only fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and beer. Did I say beer? That must have been my subconscious talking. But my subconscious really can’t be blamed for that since it’s stinking hot here in Costa Rica, and a cold beer sounds really, really good right now!
I was ravenous after yesterday morning’s run on the beach and bought myself a big ole slice of vegetarian pizza at the Tamarindo farmer’s market, along with a big glass of homemade mint lemonade. Last night, my daughter did a photoshoot of a picnic on the beach for her ATV business. They needed someone to help them finish off the crackers, salami and cheese. It would be rude to refuse. Am I right?
I know there’s a lot of throwing up in ayahuasca ceremonies. But it’s impossible to throw up food you ate a week earlier. So I’m pretty sure I’m good to go.
Morning meditations and ensuing runs on the beach continue to provide emotional, psychological and spiritual insight. My alarm goest off at 4:30am so I’m in my seat, ready to meditate at 5:00am. I suspect my soul feels obligated to respond to this show of discipline, meeting me in meditation with just the words my heart needs to hear. This is the transcript from today’s automatic writing session:
The space between is sacred. The space between breaths, heartbeats, life and death, earth and sky, me and you. The space between atoms, the nucleus of an atom and the farthest orbit of its electrons, the space between planets, stars, galaxies, the universe and alternate realities. The space between the inception of a desire and its fruition. The space between loneliness and love, despair and happiness, anger and reconciliation.
It is in this space between that magic happens. The motive force of the Universe, the expansive power of expectation takes root and grows in the space between.
Power doesn’t lie in the birth of a desire or in the realizing of the desire. The power to shift the very fabric of reality lies in the space between the desire’s inception and its fruition. Pregnant with possibility, desire takes form and shape, veritably out of thin air, in the space between.
These are the seeds of creation, the very same process by which worlds, stars and galaxies are born. And you have the awe-inspiring ability to call these forces into being any time you choose to launch a new desire. Kingdoms and dynasties were built with nothing less.
No desire is more or less worthy than any other. The nature of the desire is not what is important. The more you learn to master the space between – to truly relax into it, reveling in the delicious unfolding of your desire – the more you will find your desires manifesting with simplicity, ease and harmony.
Seek connections with others who similarly share the secret of mastering the space between and watch your cumulative energy multiply. These collaborations are bringing about massive planetary shifts, even in this moment. It is a very exciting time to be alive.
There are many who are learning to master the space between, tens of thousands are added to their ranks every day. Play with them in this delicious unfolding of your life experience.
During my morning beach run, the sun casting light on the boats bobbing out on the ocean. Little rivulets of water interspersed waves of black sand, remnants of high tide. I arrived at the far end of the beach, flopped down in the sand and stared up through the treetops.
Great Kiskadees darted back and forth across the sky, their bright yellow bellies flashing in the sun. As they hunted for insects, their flight patterns looked entirely erratic from the ground. It seemed as if the birds were climbing, diving and swooping with pure joy.
I was reminded of my morning meditation. What better way to inhabit the space between than in pure joy? Sure, the birds were hunting for food. But why should the hunt be anything but joyful?
I thought of my daily activities related to writing a book, planning future international excursions, and sorting through the myriad of details that seem to be more complicated to tackle in a Latin country as opposed to the U.S… especially when you don’t have a car. Why should my daily activities be anything but joyful? Simple in concept, tougher in practice, to be sure.
Then I remembered my soul’s teaching from yesterday. Appreciation is the key. Appreciating the visual beauty, sounds, smells, tastes and textures puts me in a place of joy. Like links on a daisy chain, it all keeps coming back to appreciation.
