Life doesn’t celebrate what you’ve achieved. It celebrates who you’ve become. When you measure yourself – seeking your value, your worth – according to your achievements, you are using the wrong measuring stick. You will never feel worthy, no matter how much you achieve.
Society values career, money, power, houses, cars, boats, luxury travel, and expensive hobbies. Your soul values connection, love, heart-felt hugs, smiles, the willingness to listen to a friend who is hurting, patience, and forgiveness. Cultivate these attributes, and your heart will be full.
Take time to breathe. Feel the wind, sun, and water on your skin. Take time to mindfully eat your food, being aware of the plants and animals who gave their lives to provide energy to your beautiful body. Celebrate each breath, because each breath is a small miracle. Each heart beat is a universe unto itself, a divinely orchestrated flow of life-giving nutrients, oxygen and waste removal.
What more proof do you need of divine love, than the breath in your lungs and the strong beating of your heart? Not a single one of man’s achievements can match the miracle of your precious heart and lungs.
