Kindness means taking the time to listen – not to others, but to your own heart. So often, you and those around you seek external validation. You desperately long to feel special. You desperately need to be seen. But the validation you seek will just leave you hungry for more when validation comes from external sources.
Your own inner eye is the source of lasting, fulfilling awareness. This inner eye uses introspection and contemplation to reveal the true radiance of your spirit.
Kindness isn’t liking someone’s post or having someone like your post. Kindness is connecting with others in your heart space by focusing that which unifies, not that which separates.
There is no message more timely and critical than this one: The need to feel special is at the heart of your loneliness epidemic. To receive reprieve from feelings of isolation and loneliness, you need to journey within.
There is a beautiful warm fire waiting for you. It’s the fire inside your own heart. Basking in the warmth of its blaze, you will find the recognition, the self-knowing that replaces the need to be seen and known by others. This is the place you can finally rest and truly relax. There is peace, tranquility, and safety in this solitude, as you gaze into the dancing flames.
You were never meant to feel this pain of separation. Living in a culture that celebrates achievement, education, travel and wealth fuels an unhealthy drive to feel special. But in doing so, you willingly set yourself apart from others. Even your need to feel special by doing good deeds, demonstrating commitment to a spiritual practice, or sharing your wisdom is a form of external validation that is just as dangerous and addictive as social media.
Look to nothing but communion with Source beside your own inner fire, and you will finally find the freedom you seek.
